Really?
I put out the first load of packages from the sheet swap yesterday and my mail carrier took them. Yippee! Today I put out the rest of them and she took some of the, and left some from yesterday? Why? They have postage, right? Well because they are over 13 oz I have to drive them to the post office. Really? I called the post office (got a help desk I am sure of it), the girl that answered, Bridget, was not confident in any of her answers. From what I understand the postage is fine, but I need to drop them off. She offered no reason why. I asked. So if any of you know why this is, please fill me in. I will try loading the kids up with 18 + packages this afternoon, after nap. BIG FUN I assure you. Sorry for the delay to all of you patiently waiting for sheets ;)

I have had this same problem. Part of living in a post-9-11 world aparently. Anything over 13 oz has to be mailed from the actual post office. What a pain! sorry, good luck!
They dont want you mailing a bomb. (However, I thought if you had paid for the postage on line and pre-arranged a carrier pick up it was fine. It has to be done in a very particular way though so that they can trace the person who mailed the package. Ya know, in case the sheets explode.)
I am so excited to see what I get back and to start planning projects, of course.
Because they think that going to the post office with your kids and tons of packages is a fun outing for the day! (Or total torture!!!)
I wish I was doing this swap! It's so hard to get nice old sheets in charity shops here. Mostly they are just nasty old polyester mixes and eighties prints.
