My favorite flower

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Peonies! My mom's garden is the best. I miss my garden at my old house. Everything there was finally getting established when we left. I can't seem to get inspiration at this house. It also doesn't help that our sod died in the crazy heat waves last summer, so our front yard is weeds! (sorry neighbors) We have a lot of yard work to do here, and a decreasing yard budget, do to gas prices UGHHHHHH!

A new Tada trailer

My parents bought a new pull behind trailer this week! It is a Tada! The trailer sleeps 3 adults, and has a full bathroom. Last night we had a Martini party as a sort of "camper warming party". The kids think it is their own. It is cute, but with the rising gas prices who is driving across country?

I've been Tagged!

I have been tagged for the first time! How exciting! Barbara from oodles and oodles got me :)

Here we go:

1. What was I doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago today I was house hunting for our first house. We finally bought one on my Birthday. It seemed to take forever. My husband and I are pretty indecisive on big things.

2. Five things on my to-do list today:
*Finish up some swaps I am working on.
*Sew
*Clean out my garage (weather permitting) I have to find a battery charger for Gina's
powerwheel 4 wheeler
*Fold and put away the kids clothes
*Get better. Gina and I have been so sick the past few days.

3.Five snacks I enjoy:
Seriously I am a total FOODIE! I love food and believe me it shows :)
I love:
*Homemade Pumpkin bread
*cold pizza
*BBQ Chips
*Hershey bars with almonds
*Sweet tarts the chewy ones

4. Things I would do if I was a billionaire:
I would make sure all of my family was taken care of (extended too). Take a LONG trip to Disneyworld. Of course donate to church. And I would give all of the money I could to help my little Carter bug be able to talk, and other children with his syndrome too.

5. Five places I have lived:
I am pretty boring here! I have pretty much lived in the same place my entire life! The only exception being when I went a way to school, but that was the same state!
Well there it is! Not too painful, being tagged is fun! Do I tag others now? I am new to this.

Teach me to sew

Gina has been wanting to learn how to sew. She was ecstatic when we started these simple shapes to practice her running stitch. At 4 she has caught the bug! She has made a heart and a star. She tells me she wants to make a triangle next. It is so cute when she goes to get her embroidery hoop she says, "I have to work on my sewing." Such determination and pride of her finished work. I am thinking of making her creations in to some special keepsake for her. I am not sure what yet, a quilt maybe. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Carter's Soccer Party!

Happy Birthday Sweet Carter Bug!
I guess I took better pictures with my sister's camera, but here are some shots of Carter's 3rd Birthday Party!
Carter loves soccer, so with that being the theme they set up a soccer field in their backyard!
It was awesome the way my sister and brother-in-law decorated their yard for the party.
The kids had a blast, and the adults must have too, because the party went well into the evening hours!

Birthday gifts

This Saturday was busy with 2 birthday parties in a row! The first was a bowling party for one of Gina's friends, Avery. Avery is in our playgroup, and her mom and I were friends pre kiddos. I made Avery a twirly skirt (my own pattern) with a flower pocket, matching shirt, hairbows, and a bracelet. I love the way it turned out, I am pretty sure she did too.
Next was my nephew Carter's 3rd birthday. It was Soccer themed in their backyard (pics to follow), It was a great time! We call him Carter Bug, so I made him this shirt with a disney inspired bug. He loved it!
It was a busy but super fun day!

Too much time at Bob Evans

Our family spends way too much time at Bob Evans! I am not sure why? I guess the kids eat there and it is relatively inexpensive! I decided to take my camera out and get some random shots around the table and when my camera met Gina this is what she was doing! Are you kidding me? I asked her where she learned that and she matter of factly said "YoGabbaGabba"!
*YoGabbaGabba is a Crazy kids show*

A New Mural

My sister asked me to come over last Thursday and paint a 'mural' in her foyer. This is right after I finished it. She still needs to accessorize the area, but I am pretty happy with it. I originally painted the bird a blue color, she added a shimmer coat, I liked it better before the shimmer coat. Oh well it's her house. It is just a simple graphic, but I like it :)

Mother's Day Gifts :)

I had to wait to post this until after Mother's Day. These are the gifts I made for the special Mother's in my life.
For my wonderful sister, who is not my mother but acts like it (LOL), I made this adorable bag. It is a slightly modified version of Amy Karol's pleated bag. I took a picture of her boys and put them on one side. The denim on the bag is from a pair of my capris I didn't care for. I used the pocket on the other side of the bag.
I also made this cute fabric flower pin. Finally a no cash wallet from Amy Karol's book. I filled the purse with her favorite juice and cookies.
For my Mom, my sister and I put together a pedicure basket. A ped egg, nail polish, nail stickers, and cuticle salve. I made her a fabric flower brooch. The bottom box is full of our home movies. My sister took all of the Vhs movies and transferred them to dvd. It was a good mother's day.

New Trampoline!

My sister bought a new trampoline! Her house is a crazy fun place for kids of any age. She has a pool, trampoline, playset, children's garden, and her basement is even decked out with a play system and swings! Gina LOVES the trampoline, and for now Adler is happy watching.
Thank goodness we only live 4 miles away!

Finally Reworked

I am totally known for having a million projects going in mind and nothing really finished. This weekend I finally finished this lamp! I bought it before Gina was born at a thrift store for like 3 dollars. It was tarnished brass and missing one crystal, but I just knew I could rework it. So here it is like 6 years later (I also never throw anything out), and it is finally finished. I painted it ballet pink and tied lavender sheer polka dot ribbon to it. I also added a pink gingham lampshade I had in the basement.
This little shelf was a yard sale find, also before Gina was born (Thank God I had a girl)! It was missing the drawer pull when I purchased it and was a terrible shade of green. I seriously need to start taking before shots. This too got a coat of Ballet Pink and a drawer pull picked out by Gina at Lowes. (I really wanted to use a vintage glass one, but the princess won)
This is just a princessy dress up corner in Gina's new bedroom, it is still kind of a work in progress.

Flea Market Finds

I had a pretty good day at the flea market. We have a large flea market here every Sunday. It is really hit or miss as far as good finds go. Last week a vendor had some old Ball jars and I passed them by, ever since I have been thinking of ways I could have used them. This week I found 2 and 8 of the pint sized hinged ones! I love the pineapple cake pan, and the olive green pyrex bowl!
I scored some more embroidered pillowcases, which I totally did not need, but they were southern belle ones and I couldn't pass them up! Also red rose pillowcases. Tons of old trims and sewing supplies.
Oh also these adorable cut out birds, which I hope to paint and hang in my kitchen . My kitchen is a whole new project I need to get started on.
I have a bunch of swaps I am working on right now! More on those later :) Have a great day!

Peggy's Birthday!

I cannot believe I forgot to post about celebrating Peggy's Birthday! Happy belated Birthday to Peggy (April 18th). I made her special cupcakes YUM! We once again loaded all the kiddos up and went to my Dad and Peggy's office for a special Birthday visit.
It was a little crazy! Baylor and Gina were fighting (big time) over who would give Peggy her present, so I suggested Carter do it! This of course ticked Ms. Gina off royally!
Special shamrock drawstring pants made with love ;)
Enjoying the yummy cupcakes! At this point Gina is outside running around the parking lot in her new flip flops and she wipes out! When she comes in, in total hysterics, the party comes to an abrupt end. Peggy's celebration is interrupted by band-aid searching and wales of "I see blood" followed by minor hyperventilating! I love 4 year olds!
Happy Birthday Peggy!
