Shower Gifts and A bit of a funk

My sister and I threw a cute little shower for our BFF (yes we share everything)! It was such a lovely time. I, of course, made her gifts (there are more to come when the little guy arrives). This is baby number three for her. All babies deserve a celebration though, right?

The pretty package!

I always like to make up a basket of bathroom necessities. Gas drops, saline drops, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen. This is a great wedding shower gift too. All of the medicine cabinet staples that you may not think of until you absolutely need them. Of course the wedding shower medicine cabinet supplies differ greatly from the baby shower supplies, but you get the idea.

I couldn't leave out the siblings! The mommy loved these the most, I think any way!

* Is anyone else in a bit of a funk? I have so many WIP's, but I don't want to do them. I am super tired of taking my daughter to gymnastics, and I cringe at the thought of her starting cheer leading this fall. Really, I have a rather blessed life. My husband does whatever it takes for me to be able to stay home with our little ones. I am just feeling burned out. Does that make sense? I can't get excited about anything, and I am tired. I love my family with all of my heart, but I want a break! I don't even feel like it is fair for me to say that. People have it so much more difficult than I do. My husband works 2 jobs at times to allow for me to have this life, why am I not more happy about it? Sorry to be a downer, but I guess that is the reason for my lack of blogging too.

That feeling sucks... how about a new inspiration? Like scrap all your quilts, get them out of the house, and start over?
Can you guys get away overnight or for a weekend someplace? Maybe plan one night a week for you guys to date; one night a week for you and your friends; and one day a week where you do not carpool.
I suggest this because I'm in the same boat. ; )

I think it is Spring. Everything in the house seems like old news. I want outside stuff! Love the onesies!

My mom has a theory that it's the change of seasons, and at least when it comes to spring, I think she's right. April is a tough month - it seems like it ought to be spring, but it isn't, at least around here. I think it's that disconnect between how I feel and how I think I ought to feel. And honestly - it is just not all that gratifying to spend so much time trotting your kids from one place to the next. I always felt as if a couple of hours had been shot, and there was absolutely nothing to show for it. All of this is to say: you aren't alone, and you aren't nuts, and this, too, will pass. (Maybe getting a mushroom decal in the mail will help :) )

The shower gifts are adorable and such great ideas. Maybe spring is adding to the funk? Would it help if you could take some hand projects with you on the road so that you feel as if you have something to show for your time waiting? I hope it ends soon!

It's easy to get burned out on the SAHM gig. I think it doesnt help that it has been so darn cold and rainy in April when March was so beautiful! We seriously need some sunshine and warm weather at our house too...

I have always thought that SAHMing would be the most difficult job!!! I am a teacher, so I kinda get the idea...although it's different. I really like your onsies. Did you make those? I, too, am in a funk. I'm home for summer, so you'd think I'd be sewing up a storm, but I've just not been in the right mindset to sew, I guess!
